Birthday Celebrations

I am absolutely IN LOVE with the new Upsy Daisy stamp set by Stampin' Up!  It's a very versatile set and I have many projects planned using the image in this set.

Birthdaybagtangerinetango For this cute birthday bag, I used Tangerine Tango, Whisper White and Pacific Point cardstock.  I also used Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point Classic Stamp Pads.  The Whisper White was cut using the new Top Note Bigz Die (made for SU by Sizzix).  The holes for the handles were made using the Horizontal Slot Punch.  Old Olive brads and Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon are the finishing touch.

I have found several templates for gift bags and I really appreciate all of you crafty gals for having the patience to photograph and post them.  The tutorial for this bag can be found HERE.  Try making one today, you'll be glad you did!

Top Note

I have been having the greatest time with the new Top Note Bigz Die from Sizzix.(many of you are familiar with the Big Shot die cutting machine)  It is an exclusive die available ONLY through Stampin' Up!  It can be used as a goodie bag topper or, as you can see here, fabulous cards!

This is a card I had the ladies make at a recent workshop.  Kiwi Kiss is fast becoming a favorite color of mine and it looks really great with vibrant pinks.

I simply turned the folded cardstock 90 degrees on the die for this fun, quick card.

Stay tuned for some more cute ideas using the Top Note Bigz die from Stampin' Up!  This exclusive die will be available for order starting October 1st along with many other fabulous dies for the new Stampin' Up Big Shot!

Well helloooooooo!

I have had a few emails from readers wondering just where the heck I am.  I have been training for a new Medical Transcription job and it has been kicking my bum!  Such a great opportunity though.  Being able to work from home has always been something I've wanted to do.  Ben doesn't start kindergarten for another year so it will allow me to be home with him and contribute financially at the same time.

Alright now, on to some crafty stuff!  There are tons of tutorials out there for gift bags and boxes so I thought I'd try a few.  Fun, fun, fun!  If you haven't already, you must try them!  Over the next few days, I will be posting some of the things I have made using these tutorials.  Today's gift bag was created using this tutorial from the Inking Addict Blog.  She is awesome!  Very inspiring and creative.

Ok, so this bag was made for a Christmas gift and I have to say that I probably won't have to buy any gift bags this year, yeah!  I think my favorite part actually is the filler!  That stuff is fun to make!

I'll be back in the next few days with another tutorial.  Thanks again Inking Addict!

Wanna Slice?

I have to say that I just don't get excited when I hear of a new craft cutting machine/tool being released.  I've tried many of them over the years and have always come back to my trusty Big Shot by Ellison.  That said, I'm getting pretty darned excited about the Slice by Making Memories!

SLICE

I like the size and and portability aspect.  It supposedly cuts paper, acetate, vinyl, and more.  It's price doesn't scare me off either.  Here's more great news.  You can enter to win one HERE!  They're giving eight away so I'm crossing my fingers!

Looking forward to.....

A pretty dress...

There is a particular scene in one of the Harry Potter movies which features Hermione Granger donning a beautiful ball gown and looking quite ethereal. She then dances with her handsome escort.
The other night we were watching said scene and my darling son uttered some of the sweetest words I've ever heard.

Ben: "I will buy you a beautiful dress and you will look pretty, Mom".

Me: "Thank you! I would love that".

Ben: "And then I will dance with you".

Yep, my eyes teared up immediately. He just looked at me sheepishly while I peppered him with a million kisses.

That's what she said...

I would have to say that this is fairly accurate. I'm not sure about the impishness though. No Janelle, the impishness part does not refer to my height.

I was sorta hoping I might be a little Dwight-ish.

Which Office Character Are You?

You are part Jim. You are personable, easy-going, and always socially aware. Your great sense of humor and impishness soften the blow of what might otherwise be a dark, cutting cynicism.

You are part Ryan. You are extremely smart and perceptive, and it irritates you to no end when inferior people try to tell you what to do. Sometimes, though, your critical eye makes you come off as aloof and bitter to others, and it may take awhile for people to get to know you.

Birthday Goodness

My dear sweet friend Kelly made this adorable apron for my birthday!  How cool is this material?  I want to eat it.  The pockets are perfect for crafting and I can reverse it for cooking.  Not that I could bear to get any grease on this baby!

She also made this awesome card.  I love the colors she chose and the clean design.  Thanks again Kelly!  You rock!
